We are very proud to announce that the Richard Hughes Cookery School is now a learning destination. For more information go to their website www.norfolk.gov.uk/childrensun...
We have always believed that a love of good food is the key to a whole host of skills which will stand children in good stead for a lifetime.
From an awareness of the importance of fresh, healthy food and its journey from plough to plate to the social skills and increased confidence that entertaining can offer, food nourishes not only the body, but the soul.
We are delighted to announce that The Richard Hughes Cookery School and The Assembly House is set to become a regional centre for The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts’ Adopt a School Trust (registered charity 1087567) which aims to enthuse children about food and cooking.
Richard has been a member of the prestigious Royal Academy of Culinary Arts since 2012 and is proud to be involved in the academy’s Adopt a School scheme which tackles a whole range of health-based and social issues such as healthy eating, obesity prevention and food education.
The scheme engages with schools all over the country, many of which are in deprived areas where there are a high percentage of pupils receiving free school meals. The Assembly House and the cookery school will coordinate volunteers, become a contact point for schools across the region and promote the scheme directly to schools.
