Healthier Baking - Balanced Baking for Life
Many of us are aware that a lot of what we bake should really only be enjoyed occasionally, but we can make recipes healthier and more nutritious without compromising on flavour.
Alex Wilson, our Assistant Pastry Chef, will lead this course inspiring you to take a more balanced approach to baking delicious treats at home without reaching for the artificial sweetener. Baked doughnuts filled with homemade lime curd, mini tea loaves and cinnamon pastry filled with apple custard and topped with beautiful apple roses. There’s no need to miss out!
Alex Wilson: the sorcerer's apprentice Alex Wilson has been assistant pastry chef to the scone master Mark Mitson for two years. The genius has certainly rubbed off! With training at the Hotel School Norwich and a position at the Two Magpies Bakery at Southwold prior to his move to The Assembly House, Alex is a star rising like a souffle. His favourite dessert is a towering croquembouche, perhaps they will be on the curriculum shortly! Alex will be teaching a range of classes in the Richard Hughes Cookery School. Watch out for his forthcoming after school baking club!
